Lay of the Land Garden Centre, 2011, Settle, North Yorkshire. Photo shows the interior design of the retail area and shop counter.
Settle is a market town on the border of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, close to the villages of Giggleswick, Langcliffe, Stainforth, Rathmell, Long Preston and Austwick.

The Old Joiners shop in Settle, North Yorkshire had a number of uses over the years from making kitchen cabinets to a chapel of rest. The building underwent basic repairs, and with a series of small interventions and elements of bespoke furniture the building was transformed on a minimal budget into a bright and welcoming garden centre. Externally a new plant sales yard was formed with entrance canopy, new vehicular & pedestrian access and parking spaces. Designplay undertook all initial design work for the project including furniture, signage and branding and gained change of use. Pete also undertook or oversaw much of the construction work and project management.
